ALM Tales

ALM Tales is a sci-fi / science-fantasy anthology set in the 23rd century, within the Alien Life Matter (ALM) Universe. The stories take place in our galaxy, where humanity and multiple alien civilizations coexist in what appears to be a peaceful, post-scarcity society. Basic needs are guaranteed, work is optional, and capitalism is a distant memory. Yet beneath this polished surface, old forces persist: ideology, faith, power, and the fear of the unknown.

The first volume, ALM Tales #1: To Be Pure, unfolds on the planet Heiki in the year 2168 G.Y. It introduces the Eetians, a species guided by an ancient and absolute belief in their creator deity, M’nomoidon, the Blind Spider. According to their sacred scriptures, reality itself was fractured into countless false truths, and only through “Purification” can the broken mirror of existence be restored. What the Eetians call divine duty becomes a justification for conquest, occupation, and destruction, while a small group of rebels attempts a final act of resistance against overwhelming power.

ALM Tales is designed as a collection of standalone stories that can be read independently, while also expanding and enriching the broader ALM mythology. Each issue explores a specific event, place, or perspective, filling the gaps between major moments of the main saga. Together, these stories form a layered “future history,” revealing hidden motivations, origins, and consequences that shape the galaxy.

The ALM Universe and its narrative foundation were created and written by Attilio Pesolo and Sara Ciuffreda, who developed its lore, civilizations, and philosophical core. The visual identity of the project – including character design, alien species, and full comic artwork – was created by Lordaeon, whose distinctive style blends organic sci-fi, religious symbolism, and epic, otherworldly imagery.

Alien Life Matter is more than a comic series. It is a long-term world-building project that explores how belief, power, and morality collide on a galactic scale, and how even in a seemingly enlightened future, the struggle for truth and freedom remains timeless.
