Sparrow House
Sparrow House is a comic story about humans, magical beings, and interdimensional aliens hiding in plain sight in New York City. The drama centers around the Brooklyn Institute of the Arcane Sciences, a school dedicated to training the next generation of heroes. Magic battles erupt beneath the subway, and dragons soar between skyscrapers in an ongoing struggle for control of the cosmic balance.
The story follows a group of four friends, focusing on the growing tension between two of them in particular. Tamser, a 15-year-old boy, is intelligent but reckless. Kiera, a she-elf, strictly follows the rules. Their opposing personalities come to a head when Tamser’s mother is taken hostage by an evil warlock.
Desperate to find her, Tamser ventures into forbidden dark magic, relying on spells to locate her—magic he is not allowed to use without school supervision. During his search, he encounters a dangerous foe and, acting in self-defense, accidentally causes the villain’s death. Though he escapes, he fails to rescue his mother.
Back at the institute, Tamser pleads with his friends for help, but the Warlock brings a formal complaint to the Dusk Council—the arbiters between the forces of light and dark—accusing Tamser of trespassing and murdering his familar.
Defying both the council and school authorities, Tamser is determined to rescue his mother. Kiera is hesitant, but ultimately decides to help. Together, they succeed in saving her, but Tamser pays a heavy price: he is expelled from the school and forbidden from using magic or contacting his friends.
Alone and cut off from the world he once knew, Tamser receives an unexpected offer—from the very Warlock who took his mother: join him, and reclaim his magical powers.
